Surprise Prayer Shamrocks!

Saint Patrick used the shamrock as a symbol of the Trinity.  The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit.  He used the shamrock to help to teach people about God and how to pray!  We always pray every day in K4J, and this year to celebrate Saint Patrick’s Feast Day you are going to have a fun activity to go along with those prayers!  This activity will help you realize that the Sign of the Cross is great prayer to say for others! Think of the friends and family that need your prayers every day.  Sometimes our lives get so busy that we forget to pray for others.  This activity will help you realize that a great prayer for someone only takes a few seconds!

Supplies needed:

A Printout of the "I Prayed For You Shamrocks" (See Link)

Tape

Scissors

A Green Crayon

Instructions:

First, you will need to print out a copy of the image below.

Once you have printed it, you will need to color the shamrocks and cut them out.

Now, place a pile of them in one pocket, and a small roll of tape in another.  When you see someone that you would like to pray for, say a small simple but powerful prayer "I pray for (put their name here) in the name of The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit."  Then take your tape, get a small amount and place it on the back of a shamrock and go and stick that shamrock to the person!  You can either let them know that you are giving them a shamrock and that you prayed for them or you can make it a game, and stick it to their back without them knowing.  See how many surprise prayers you can say for before you are noticed!

Have fun on Saint Patrick's Day, and do not forget to pray for those you love, and those new people you meet or simply pass by!  Everyone could use a few extra prayers, and remember, God the Trinity is listening!
